1920 ~ MARGARET DOLLY GEIGLE ~ 2012
Posted: September 14th, 2012It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Margaret Eileen Geigle on Tuesday, September 11th, 2012. Dolly, as she was known, was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan on October 19th, 1920. Her parents farmed throughout the Southern Saskatchewan area until moving to Fort William, Ontario and then eventually to the Burstall area where Dolly finished school, married and started a family of her own. She worked as a telephone operator for a period of time but was a true Farmer herself. You could always find her out in the fields, hauling grain, driving tractor, assisting with repairs or bringing out lunches. She relocated to Medicine Hat in 1988. Dolly had a talent for crocheting, sewing, knitting and although her fingers got sore in recent years she still continued to knit mitts, toques and scarves for children in need. We were blessed that she could live independently and was still driving on her better days enjoying trips to the mall, lunches and many other adventures. Her passions were Dolls, Dolphins, Ducks, Dresses & Driving…that was Dolly. Dolly is survived by her Grandchildren, Robin Orsulak (Nic), Nicole Orsulak (Bill) and Regan Orsulak (Carol) all of Calgary; her Great Grandchildren, Ryan Orsulak of Lethbridge, Nicholas and Shawn Orsulak both of Calgary, and Samantha and Brittany Orsulak both of Claresholm. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert John and Henrietta Lawrie Barclay Campbell; her husband, John Geigle; and her daughter, Golden Elaine Orsulak. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to those who have been invaluable during this difficult time. Special thanks to Darlene Beitz and Agnes Nygaard. You are angels. A Celebration of Dolly’s Life will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in the Family Plot at Burstall Cemetery. Condolences may be sent through www.saamis.com or www.gonebutnotforgotten.ca or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Margaret Geigle. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORIUM, “The Chapel in the Park”, locally owned and directed.
