HELEN IRENE LOFT (nee Barrows). Born July 21, 1917, passed away October 7, 2012. It is with great sadness that we report the death of our dear mother and grandmother, who passed away at the Milk River Hospital at the age of 95 years.
Helen was born and raised on the family farm near Milk River. She worked side by side with Art in the farming operation. She volunteered at the Prairie Rose Lodge at the birthday parties and made cards, as well as other volunteer work for the community. Helen had many favorite hobbies including china painting, curling, travelling to many places. She also enjoyed flowers and was an avid quilter. She was also a Sunday school teacher and taught the same boys for ten years. Helen and Art were married December 6, 1939.
She is survived by two daughters, Gail (Eldon) Lutz and Janie Tessari; two grandchildren, Barb (Dan) Cain and Wade Lutz; one great-grandchild Jared Cain; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Art, her parents Mary Barrows and Ernest Barrows; one sister, Vernae; brothers Reg, Lloyd, Lawrence and Dale. She will be sadly missed by her family.
The funeral service will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church, 321 – Main St. in Milk River on Friday October 12th at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Keith Dangerfield of the River of Life Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Milk River Cemetery.

  1. Stephen F. Kotch Jr. says:

Helen & Art were some of the most wonderful persons me & my family ever travelled with. Be it Las Vegas, Disneyland, or wherever, their cheerful & uplifting personalities endeared them with all of us. When we delivered them home after a trip, we didn’t wish to bid them farewell, even though we knew they would be with us again on another adventure. Now they are together again, & we’ll all travel with them in another dimension. That being fond memories of their contribution to society. Of course, we’ll also eventually see them on a journey significantly more rewarding, where we’ll all join our family and friends. God bless your family. Stephen F. Kotch Jr. & Family
