It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved family member, Wallace Littleleaf on October 7, 2012 in Brocket, Alberta.
Wallace was born to Esther (Stripped Squirrel) and James Little Leaf on November 9, 1942 in Brocket, Alberta. Wallace was a hard worker and a lifelong learner, who came from a farming and ranching family. He also comes from a strong Catholic background and was brought up in a traditional way of life. Wallace’s passions included Rodeos, Pow Wows and Education. His achievements were many. He obtained his Social Work Diploma from Mount Royal University and has achieved many other educational endeavours. He worked for the City of Calgary, the Federal Government in Corrections and many other places throughout his life, too many to mention.
In spite of oppositions that he faced in life, he came to find himself with great humility; faith and encouragement in others. He had a trickster humour, loved making people laugh and always had a smile on his face.
Wallace is survived by his sisters Margery Little Leaf (Ross), Valmarie Little Leaf (Dave) and his brother Conrad Little Leaf (Sharon), adopted brothers Jim Knowlton (Theresa) and Eddie James Bad Eagle. He was predeceased by his mother Esther (2009), father James (1978), siblings Levi (1957), Mildred (Sparrow) (1961), Joseph (1979), Richie (2007) and Gloria (2009), his uncle, Jack Little Leaf and aunt, Cecile Strikes With a Gun. He was also survived by his son, Derrick Pard. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, all that he treasured and loved.
Funeral Service for Wallace will be held at the Piikani Community Hall on Saturday October 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Grave yard services will follow.
