1939 ~ WENZEL ~ 2012

Posted: October 19th, 2012

Ellen Wenzel passed away at her home in Consul, SK on October 17th, 2012 at the age of 73. Ellen, the oldest child of George and Thelma Palmer, was born on the farm north of Consul on April 17th, 1939. She married Kenneth Wenzel, son of Harve and Leona Wenzel in March of 1958. They took up residence in Maple Creek, then in the fall moved back to Consul. In May of 1959, they moved to Brooks, AB. Then in March of 1960 they moved to the farm at Consul where Ellen helped Ken on the farm for the next 35 years and raised four children. In 1995, they moved to town where Ellen started working at the motel with her daughter Shelley until she passed.
Ellen was one of the most caring and unselfish people you would ever meet. Her family was her life and she loved to cook for her family and friends. She was most famous for her macaroni and cheese dish along with many others.
Ellen will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her three children Palmer (Joyce) Wenzel, Shelley (Geano) Seifert, and Greg (Miranda) Wenzel; her grandchildren Dusty, Nicho, Chris, Travis, Tenille and Larissa; her great-grandsons Ayden and Mikhail and her third great grandchild expected in November. She also leaves her sisters Marilyn and Vicki, many nieces and nephews and their families. Ellen was predeceased by her daughter Donna; her husband Ken; her two brothers Ralph and Bruce; and her parents George and Thelma.
A private family Graveside Service will take place at Consul Cemetery, Consul, Saskatchewan. Condolences may be sent through www.saamis.com or www.gonebutnotforgotten.ca or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Ellen Wenzel.
