KENNETH GOSSELIN

Mr. Kenneth Arthur Gosselin, beloved husband of Mrs. Lily Gosselin of St. Albert, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Sturgeon Community Hospital, St. Albert, AB., at the age of 85 years. He was born to Arthur and Deborah Gosselin in Lafleche, SK., and grew up on the family farm. Kenneth married the love of his life, Lily Edvardson in Medicine Hat on April 17, 1951 and shared 61 years of wedded bliss together. Ken enjoyed fishing and loved hunting wild life. He was a proud member of the Elks and the Eagles in Medicine Hat as well as other places they moved and lived. Ken was an outstanding member of the Medicine Hat Police Service for 17 years, upon moving his family to Calgary in 1967, he started with the Highway Patrol working with the Department of Transportation and retired at the age of 55 years. Upon retirement from the DOT, Ken and Lily embarked on their month long dream vacation to Alaska. He also shared in one of the proudest moment a father could experience, when he walked his daughters down the isle on their wedding days. Kenneth will be forever remembered in the hearts of his wife, Lily; children, Delphine (Perley) MacDonald, Barry Gosselin, Larry Gosselin, Brenda Macaulay, Lloyd Gosselin and grandchildren, Leanne (Dave) McKay and Tammy MacDonald. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Deborah Gosselin; son, Bruce Gosselin and son-in-law, Kerry Macaulay. A Celebration of Kenneths life will take place at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery.
