1914 – 2012
With great sadness the Kubota family announces the peaceful passing of their loving matriarch on November 22, 2012 in Lethbridge.
Tamako was predeceased by her husband T. Kubota . She will be dearly missed by her sons: James, Edward, Richard and daughter Edna, and their families.
Tamako was born in Japan in 1914. While she was teaching in Japan she met Takayuki Kubota, a long time Southern Alberta farmer who was visiting his brother. Tamako and T. Kubota were married in Japan and came to Canada in 1962. They enjoyed many fulfilling functions with family and friends and attending the Japanese United church serving in various capacities. Every year they planted and maintained a huge garden which gave them great satisfaction. Tamako excelled in Art and spent many years teaching calligraphy to dedicated students.
The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Therese Villa and the Chinook Regional Hospital for their dedicated love and exceptional care to our mother.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Southern Alberta Japanese United Church, 821-9th Ave. North, Lethbridge AB T1H 1E8
