ROLLINGSON Hazel

HAZEL ELIZABETH PETERSON ROLLINGSON, beloved mother of Merlye Selk of Calgary and Dennis Peterson (LeeAnn) of Burley, Idaho, passed away in Lethbridge on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the age of 96 years.
Hazel was born on January 21, 1917 in Campbellton, New Brunswick and moved to Lethbridge in 1927. Hazel married Byron Peterson in 1936 and moved to the Peterson farm overlooking Tyrell’s Lake near New Dayton.
Hazel was baptized in the L.D.S. church in 1954 and was sealed to Byron in the Cardston Temple. She served as Relief Society secretary, Relief Society President, teacher of various classes and visiting teacher.
After moving to Lethbridge, Hazel enjoyed volunteering as a Candy Striper supervisor at the hospital for 8 years. Byron passed away in 1978 at the age of 67. In 1982 Hazel married Henry Rollingson. Henry enjoyed travelling and they especially liked visiting Hawaii. Henry passed away in 1998. Hazel was also predeceased by all her siblings, her son-in-law, Roy Selk, other relatives and many friends.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Merlye Selk, her son, Dennis (LeAnn) Peterson, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, dear niece Donna Mead of Leduc, and special nephew, Ronald Peterson and his wife, Marguerite of Lethbridge.
Friends may meet the family on Monday evening, March 25 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge, or prior to the service on Tuesday, March 26 from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at the church.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LETHBRIDGE EAST STAKE CENTRE, 4105 Forestry Avenue South, with Bishop Mark Heninger officiating.
Interment in the Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge.
