Harvey Fred Sept, beloved husband of Sharen and father to Dean and Sheldon, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 28th, 2013 at the age of 66 years after a very brief illness unrelated to cancer. Harvey was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on July 16th, 1946, son to Max and Alice Sept. He was predeceased by his parents and in-laws; his brother, Stan; niece, Lynn; and daughter-in-law, Lori. Harvey met the love of his life, Sharen Thomas, in Calgary and they were married on September 17th, 1966. They moved from Calgary to Redcliff in 1979. Harvey was a welder and truck driver. Upon retirement he continued to weld and operate his company, Harvs Farm Service. He loved to help people solve their problems and enjoyed the challenges they brought him. Harv was cancer-free and an 8-year survivor. He and Sharen enjoyed the adventures of taking many trips away. His grandchildren were his greatest fondness, with his llamas and cat, Spanky a close second. He leaves his humour and great memories to his wife, Sharen and their children, Dean (Carla) of BC, and Sheldon (Christa) of SK; ten grandchildren; his brothers, Lawrence (Shirley) and Allan (Shirley); sister, Sharon; sister-in-law, Catherine (Mackenzie); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Saturday, May 4th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Plot at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Harveys memory may be made to the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre, 666 – 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, AB, T1A 4H6. So very sorry to hear of Harv’s passing. I will always remember his keen sense of humour and his obvious love of life and family. May it help to know that others are thinking of you and share your in loss.
