Posted: May 14th, 2013CATHY ROSE ANN (NEE FINDLAY) HARTLEY passed away in Vulcan, Alberta on May 6, 2013 after a very fast onset of pancreatic/liver cancer.
Rose Ann was born October 19, 1949 and raised in Vulcan. She married Howard S. Hartley on February 11, 1976.
Rose Ann applied her secretarial skills in Calgary, Cranbrook, Lethbridge and Vulcan prior to becoming the owner/operator of the Alberta Registries office in Vulcan. For 28 years she assisted any who came for Motor Vehicle Licensing, no matter the hour of the day.
Rose Ann loved to travel, was an avid reader, a multi-tasker, and a people person who enjoyed interacting with anyone and everyone. She helped organize high school reunions, fulfilled many church roles, and was a vibrant community and extended family member.
Predeceased by her father Jack Lundy Findlay, Rose Ann is survived by her husband Howard, her mother Lola Rose (Bateman) Findlay, and her four siblings: Fay Bancroft, Ted Findlay, Jean McKibbin and Louise Campbell. Rose Ann was very loved and will be dearly missed.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in CHAMPION, Alberta. Friends may meet the family between 1:00 and 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at the Vulcan Cemetery following a luncheon.
