TURNER Marie

Posted: May 18th, 2013

MARIE TURNER, loving wife of the late Ed Turner, passed away suddenly on May 17, 2013.
Cherishing her memory are her children Carol Taylor, Doug (Audrey) Turner, grandchildren Stuart (Betty) Taylor, Anna (Matthew) Graves, Corey (Angie), Ryan, Shaun (Shelby), Kyle (Devynn) Turner, great-grandchildren Kristen, Scott, Elizabeth, Samantha, Nicole and Ciara.
Marie was predeceased by her husband Ed, daughter Gwen, son-in-law Dan Taylor, her parents and numerous family members. Marie was born on August 1, 1923, the only child of Doug and Jennie Weir. She loved her home on the family ranch. She attended school at Masinasin and Coutts. She married her true love Ed Turner in 1944. They managed the ranch and raised their children. Together they enjoyed photography, snowmobiling, golf and their grandchildren. She spent her retirement years between Mesa and the ranch. She loved her life in the two spots, and enjoyed travelling and going on cruises with family and friends. Before moving to Milk River six years ago, she rode her grandson’s horse and went for a round on the combine. Her final years were spent at the Prairie Rose Lodge in the company of her friends. Dorothy, Annette and all the staff became family to her. She felt treasured and safe. She valued these relationships, her friends and family with all her heart.
The family is truly thankful to all those who cared for Marie in her final hours, Prairie Rose Lodge, Milk River Hospital and Chinook Regional Hospital.
A Funeral Service will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street, Milk River, AB on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Sandra Riddell officiating.
