Posted: August 6th, 2013With heavy hearts the family of Mr. Edmund Stoyke, announce his passing at home surrounded by loved ones, from a short but courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, August 1st, 2013 at the age of 74. Ed leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Laureen (Kelly) Coulter, Coralee (Keith) Kleckner, and Brenda (Mike) Johnson; seven grandchildren, Riley, Grayson, Liam, Blake, Alex, Carlene, and Wade; one sister, Ruth Rennie; two sisters-in-law, Norma (Harold) Magnuson and Marilyn (Ben) Jehn; two brothers-in-law, Bruce (Doreen) Montgomery and James Montgomery; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Bev Dirk. Ed was predeceased by his loving wife, Louise Stoyke; his parents, Ernest and Hulda Stoyke; his father and mother-in-law, Alec and Pearl Montgomery; one brother, Hubert Stoyke; and one sister-in-law, Lois Carlson. Ed was born in Poland on May 13th, 1939 and came to Canada in 1949. He married Louise on April 20th, 1963 and they raised their daughters on the family farm. Ed was an avid outdoorsman who spent many hours hunting, fishing, and camping with friends. One of his favourite past times was attending auction sales. He will be fondly remembered by friends and family. The Funeral Service will be held in UNITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 8 Palliser Place NE, on Wednesday, August 7th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Sid Nelson officiating. A private family interment will take place at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery. So sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. He was always a joy to visit with. Thinking of you all.
I am so sorry for your loss. Ed was always at the auctions with his good friend Bev. He was a wonderful man to visit with. We all enjoyed his company and will miss him. Ed always wore a smile and looked at life positively. My deepest sympathy to your family.
