1939 ~ PURDY ~ 2013

Mr. John Purdy of Medicine Hat passed away on Wednesday, August 21st, 2013 at the age of 73 years. John leaves to cherish his memory his son, Mike (Dawn) Purdy of Redcliff, his grandson Hunter as well as several cousins, numerous nephews and one niece. John was predeceased by his parents and his sister Jill Robertson. John was born on October 4th, 1939 at Arcola, Saskatchewan. He loved the outdoors whether it be camping, fishing, golfing or just enjoying nature. John also loved coaching hockey and watching sports and was a fan of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders and Toronto Blue Jays. He was a very active man who couldn’t sit still for long. John enjoyed many trips south for the winter. He also had a love for all animals. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Monday August 26th, 2013 from 10:00 AM – 10:55 AM. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday, August 26th, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Gary W. Goran officiating. Interment will follow the luncheon at Redcliff Cemetery. Memorial gifts in John’s memory may be made to the S.P.C.A., 55 Southwest Drive SW, Medicine Hat, AB, T1A 8E8.
