Mrs. Adele Schwabe of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Mr. Max Schwabe, passed away on Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 at the age of 75 years. Adele leaves to cherish her memory her children, Rolf (Shirley Ann), Henry (Gwen), Garry (Crystal), Cora (Murray) Heidinger and Arnold (Hieu); six grandchildren, Matthew, Christine (Andy), Jeremy, Alexandra, Nicole and Taylor; one great grandchild, Isabel; two brothers, Helmut (Erna) Gill and Emil (Sandra) Gill; two sisters, Alma (Adolf) Schneider and Hilma (Jakob) Schlenker; one sister-in-law, Caroline Gill; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Max, Adele was predeceased by her parents, Ludwig and Dorothea Gill; three brothers, Waldemar, Arthur and Herbert (in infancy); and one sister, Ella (Oskar) Fried. Adele was born on July 3rd, 1938 in Bessarabia and moved with her family to Canada in 1950 when she was 12. After a short time living in Leader, the Gill family moved to Redcliff. She met Max in 1955 at the greenhouse where he worked. They married in 1957. She worked at Riverview Nursing Home from 1969 until 1972, but always returned to work in the greenhouse. She loved having family get- togethers and one of her greatest memories was a trip to Hawaii with Max in 1978 and to Germany in 1984 where she met Max’s family for the first time. Adele spent numerous hours crocheting and knitting and was extremely adept at it, even making her own patterns at times. Family was everything to Adele, nothing made her happier than when family walked through her door. Adele touched many people with her kind and gentle spirit and they, along with her family, will miss Adele.
