With family by her side, Elizabeth Eustina Burr (nee Schafer) beloved wife of the late Stanley Burr, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Monday, June 21, 2014 at the age of 97 years. She was born on January 17, 1917 in Senate, SK., the fifth of six children to Stephan & Franziska Schafer (nee Feth). Elizabeth resided comfortably at the Haven of Rest for two years following a lengthy stay at St. Josephs Home under the loving care of the Carmelite Sisters. She was predeceased by her husband, Stan in 2004 and was the only surviving member of her siblings. Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dixie (Dennis) Bohnet, Norma (Gary) Demke, Norman (Pam) Burr; six grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. She was a gentle, loving, graceful soul, friend to all and a faithful servant of God. Mom, your work on earth is done! Fly with the Angels! You will be missed. Those wishing to pay their respects will have the opportunity to do so one hour prior to the Prayer Service and one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. Vigil Prayers will be recited at St. Josephs Home (Chapel), 156 – 3 Street N.E., Medicine Hat, AB., on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Josephs Home (Chapel), on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Father Alphonse Narisetty celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. A time of fellowship will follow in the lower hall at St. Patricks Church, 238 – 2 Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat, AB.
