Violet Helen Leentvaar passed away at the Bow Island Health Centre on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at the age of 79 years. Violet was born on January 5, 1937 in Taber, Alberta, a daughter to Henry and Anna Hooge. She was an avid bowler for 25 years which she enjoyed. Violet was a crafty lady having crocheted doilies and stuffed toys and knitted many sweaters and afghans throughout the years. She also knew her way around the kitchen as she cooked for 16 years in various restaurants and enjoyed every minute she was there. Violet also worked 12 years for the CORE Association. She was a very social person and easily made friends wherever she went. Violet will be sadly missed by all who knew her including her best friend, Tony Leentvaar; four children and grandchildren: Janice Adams and her son Colton; Robert (Beth) Leentvaar and their children, Derek and Emily; granddaughter, Hailey Ward; Donna (Shawn) Sadler and their children, Kyle and Kaile; Dan Leentvaar; a sister, Freda Huber and a brother, Larry Hooge as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Anna Hooge; a daughter, Toni Ward; a brother, Peter Hooge; four sisters, Joanie (Ken) Miller, Anne (Bill) Dootka, Teana (Hartley) Engleson and Mary (Abe) Braun.
