1937 – 2016
Mr. Larry Letkeman, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Erna Letkeman, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the age of 78 years.
He loved to ride, to write. To tell stories. His stories of cowboy life, the working cowboy, the ways of their humble determination have been captured in mounds of photographs, poems and prose keeping him busy in his later years, spending hours editing, writing and documenting what the cowboy way was and what it meant. How it related to living a life led by your heart which was a life led by God. And that is the life he led until God called him home in a very quick and peaceful way.
He is very loved by his wife Erna, son Greg Letkeman, daughters Jocelyn Fortier, and Sherri and Byron Koskewich, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 7:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 St. S., Lethbridge, AB.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH LETHBRIDGE, 4717 24 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB T1K 7C1, with Pastor Dave Acree, officiating.

I just now stumbled across this announcement. I worked with Larry many years ago at Bar K ranch I was young man of 18 full of spit and vinegar. Larry was excellent boss and amazing hand. I remember he had great sense of humour always tempered with some good advice and or practical joke. I know it has been many years since his passing. I hope this finds his family if only to know he’s remembered fondly by past pupil and friend. R.I.P LARRY. I know you’re in a place with endless grass and good horses. Possibly even a couple young eager hands to pass your wisdom on to. Go with god my old friend
