STEINLEY
December 12, 1932 ~ June 14, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of Christina Elizabeth Steinley, beloved wife of Harold Steinley, announce her passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at the age of 83 years. “Tina” was born in Prelate, SK., and moved to a farm near Empress as a young girl. She became a sweet and beautiful young woman and her first job was at the Empress Hospital, which she loved. She and Harold were married on December 27, 1951. Tina excelled in her role as wife and mother; baking and cooking and doing lots of sewing of dresses and curling of hair for three little girls; Audrey, Lucille and Nola… all while graciously welcoming family and friends for visits and lovely meals. Martin, their son, arrived in 1961 and in 1964 the family moved into the town of Empress. Tina, true to her nature, kindly and generously shared her culinary and artistic talents with the community. In 1994, Tina and Harold moved to a lovely home on the Saskatchewan River in Medicine Hat. There they enjoyed the view, the wildlife and especially the birds; while welcoming lots of visitors. In recent years, they resided at Chartwell Gardens. Besides her loving husband, Harold, Tina will be remembered by her children; Audrey McLemore (Buck Smith), Lucille (Leonard) Bishoff and Nola (Dwaine) Skappak all of Medicine Hat and Martin (Kathleen) Steinley of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Jeremy Bishoff, Jessie Senkiw, Dan Petersen, Christopher Skappak, Alexander Steinley, William Steinley and James Steinley; great-grandchildren, Ava Senkiw, Bodie Senkiw, Celes Skappak and Max Skappak. Tina was predeceased by her grandson, Jordan Skappak; parents, Jacob and Celestina Dirk; sister, Rose Kosolofski and her brother, Joe Dirk. A Celebration of Tina’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, June 20, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating.
