1925 ~ VICTOR LISKE ~ 2017

Victor Liske, beloved husband of Isabel Liske of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, February 13th, 2017 at the age of 91 years. Victor also leaves to cherish his memory one son, Victor (Sandy) Liske Jr.; one daughter, Doris (Robert) Volk; five grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Makepeace, Terry Volk, Scott (Jessicca) Liske, Jennifer (Craig) Bilodeau and Cody Liske; twelve great grandchildren, Emily Volk, Alyssa Makepeace, Sophia Makepeace, Jordan Volk, Maya Liske, Kelsey Liske, Devyn Liske, Lauryn Liske, Kaylee Liske, Cooper Grisak, Bowen Bilodeau and Brooklyn Bilodeau. Victor was predeceased by parents, John and Pauline Liske; one brother, Alex Liske; and two sisters, Meta Ulmer and Helen Lemke. Victor was born and raised in the Ukraine and during the war he escaped from a concentration camp in Russia, making his way to Brazil in 1941. In 1952 he married the love of his life, Isabel Cacko and in 1960 they immigrated to Canada making Medicine Hat their home. He was employed at the Medicine Hat Public Library for 21 years. Along with Isabel he cherished his family for 65 years. He was the love of Isabel’s life and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 12:55 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, on Thursday, February 16th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. Interment will follow at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery.
