BATTLE

EVELYN LEONA BATTLE, of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Russell Battle, passed away peacefully at Martha’s House on December 31, 2017 at the age of 76 years.

How do you recap the life of someone who was so loving, caring, giving, strong, talented and intelligent.

Mom loved people, she liked to interact and make new friends. When she moved here she soon had “Coffee Friends, Church Friends, & Curves Friends”.

Mom loved completing craft projects and could master any that she tried. From sewing to painting she could do it all. She saved us many times with her skill of finding creative solutions for projects.

She had to endure much heartbreak in her life through the losses of close family members but she was always the strong one comforting the rest of us.

Left to miss her are her mother, Eva O’Donnell, daughters and sons-in-law, Lynnette (Ed) Kalegaric and Melanie (John) Beattie, her grandchildren, Jennifer (Clinton), Stefanie (Jonathan), Anthony (Amanda), Matthew (Roxanne) & Samantha (Keith), her newest joy and first great-grandson, Owen Russell, her niece Adena (Keith) Heppler and family and nephew Martin (Roberta) O’Donnell.

Waiting for her in heaven are her husband Russell (2000), her son Gary (1996), her father Elmer (1992), her brother Earl (2003), and her sister-in-law Vicki (2009).

Evelyn collected angels and now we have lost our angel.

A Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Glenda Wert officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 3105 – 16 Avenue North, Lethbridge, Alberta T1H 5E8.
