It is with profound sadness that we announce that Wendy Joyce Hughes of Medicine Hat, beloved mother and Nana, passed away on Thursday, February 22nd, 2018, at the age of 69 years. Wendy leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kim (Galin) Kerkhoff and their children: Logan, Kate, and Adam; her daughter, Kelly Hughes (Wes) and their children: Ethan, Kyla, Abbie, and Hailey; and her son, Kevin Hughes. Wendy is also survived by her sister, Penny Gaetz; her brother, Pete (Naomi) Simpson; and brother-in-law, Bob Webster; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Pete and Audrey Simpson. We will miss her laughter, her strength, and her beautiful smile, but mostly, the amazing and devoted love that she had for her grandchildren. A private family service will be held at a later date.
