HAMZA, Victor
Posted: April 5th, 20181953 – 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Hamza, beloved husband and father. Vic passed away Saturday March 31, 2018 at the age of 65 years.
Vic was born February 25, 1953 in Lethbridge, AB, the second of five children to Wasyl (Bill) and Olga Hamza. On April 4, 1986 he and Ann were married, and have two daughters, of whom he was extremely proud.
Growing up Vic was a talented athlete and played many sports. Summer employment meant working construction with has dad and brother. He was never afraid to try something new; from construction to road paving, retail sales, water treatment operator and house painting. Harvest work near Nobleford led him to try his hand at farming. Purchasing a farm near Picture Butte, Vic enjoyed following the seasons. The smell of newly turned earth and freshly mown hay were what he missed most when the farm was sold in 2009. Vic loved to cook and feed people. He could make anything taste like a gourmet meal. He was an avid reader with many interests.
Left to cherish Victor’s memory are his loving wife Ann, his daughters Alyssa (Marcel Doucette) and Kaitlin (Riley) Machacek. Siblings Julie, Tony, Genie and Veronica, nieces and nephews. Victor was predeceased by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, April 6, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Pastor Jim Zondervan officiating.

I considered Victor one of my best buddies. Went to high school together and played basketball together at Winston Churchill High School. Fond memories of Victor. Victor was best man at my wedding in 1974.
I moved away from Lethbridge years ago and sadly lost touch but thought of Victor a lot.
God speed Victor
