Ivy Moraes (nee Williams)

1924 – 2018

Ivy Moraes of Bow Island, beloved wife of the late Stanley Moraes, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the age of 93 years. Ivy was born August 26, 1924 in Bow Island, Alberta. Ivy’s parents, George and Elizabeth Redknap, farmed at Winnifred, Alberta. Ivy lived in Lethbridge before returning to Bow Island in 2003. She served in the Army at age 18 until she married at age 21. Ivy worked as an LPN for 23 years at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital. Her interests included gardening, sewing, handicrafts, and baking. Ivy is survived by her two brothers: Harold (Jim) Redknap, and Bob Redknap; son, Kenneth (Judy) Moraes; daughters: Dorothy (Jim) Taylor, and Margaret Brannon; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Moraes, in 1978; her second husband, Albert Williams in 2003; six siblings; and great grandson, Riley Martin in 2014. A Private Funeral Service will be held at a later date. An Interment in the Field of Honor will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, 1210 Scenic Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta. Flowers are gratefully declined.
