1935 ~ Alvin William “Al” Strobel ~ 2019
Posted: February 13th, 2019Alvin William Strobel of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife, Eunice; daughter, Cindy (Bill) Rose; son, Cory (Shelley) Strobel; grandchildren, Brant Rose (Marlaina Eldey), and Taylor (Richelle) Rose, Melissa Strobel; great-granddaughter, Harper Rose; sister, Elsie (George) McQuarrie; brother, Albert (Nina) Strobel; sister-in-law, Anne Strobel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Al was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Anna Strobel; daughter, Cheryl Szoke; and brother, Martin Strobel.
Al was born in Kerrobert, SK, on October 12, 1935 and was raised on the family farm near Luseland, SK. After completing his early education in Luseland, he continued on to attend Briercrest College and Seminary in Caronport, SK. After completing his education, Al worked for Co-op for 36 years before retiring in Medicine Hat, AB. He cheerfully volunteered his time to maintenance services for the Whispering Pines Bible Camp over the years in addition to being a member of Gideon’s International for many years. He enjoyed listening to Gospel Music, playing golf, and going for coffee with his friends. Family was very important to Al and he will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Friday, February 15th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5.
