BAILIE, PATRICIA ELLEN

JULY 31, 1925 – APRIL 16, 2019

Pat passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 after struggling with COPD in recent years. Pat was born and raised in New Brigden, AB and had fond memories of her farm-life childhood in spite of growing up in the Depression. She obtained her teaching certificate and while working at the Skiff School, Pat met and married Ted Bailie in 1947. They spent the next years farming and raising four daughters until retiring to Calgary in 1985. She was an active community member and was known for her kind heart and good humour. Pat made friends wherever she went and always had time for a coffee and a chat. Family share many memories of wicked board games followed by homemade pie. Pat was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Pat was predeceased by her husband Ted; her parents Jack and Bessie Doolan; and her siblings Mary, Bill, and Jim. She was the best of friends to her daughters: Maureen (Leonard), Joan, Gail, Shiela (Tom); ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caring staff at Southwood Intercare Fairview Unit seniors residence who made Pat’s final two years as comfortable as possible.
