1927 – 2019
Mr. Ernest W.R (Ernie) Mercer of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Kay Mercer, passed away in Lethbridge at Fairmont Extendicare on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the age of 91 years. Ernie was born in Lethbridge on June 26, 1927 and attended White School and farmed in that area for all of his life. He filled his life with family, farming, fishing trips, goose hunting, and building a home in Vancouver. Besides his loving wife Kay, Ernie is survived by his son Tyler, grandson Jason, siblings Della Katan, Audrey (Dale) Wilson, Myrna Olshaski, Lloyd (Edna) Mercer, and Clayton (Diane) Mercer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by father Ernest Sr, his mother Marion, brother Don, and young son Wayne Ernest. Thank you to the staff at Extendicare for taking such great care of Ernie during his time there. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at ST. AUGUSTINE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411, 11 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Steve Bateman, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ernie’s name may be made to Wood’s Homes, 312- 3 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 1Y9
