MARVIN DEE, 90, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, September 2nd, 2019 in the Cardston, Alberta hospital. Dee is survived by his eternal sweetheart of 69 years – Lauretta (married January 4th, 1950), their children Marvin (Reva), Terry (Sandy), Sheila (Sidney) Carothers and Debra (Rick) Orchard.
Dad was born November 11th, 1928 to Herman and Susan Kenly of Mountain View, Alberta. Dee was the last surviving member of their family, that included his older brothers, Herman and Kay, his older sister LaDean and younger sister Delois (who passed away at age three). Dad outlived all his Kenly family and ancestors by at least 15 years, so we know there’s a great reunion taking place right now on the other side of the veil.
Dad was a remarkable husband, companion and caregiver to his sweetheart Lauretta right up until his last day on earth, and we know he will continue to watch over our frail and beautiful mom until she is able to join him at their sweet reunion, where she will be able to remember what a remarkable man she married.
Dad was always a good friend, with love and concern for others, whether it was during his time working at the BA Plant near Waterton, as a Realtor and Insurance Agent in Calgary, or his favorite time being his own boss when he and mom started Chinook Tours in Cardston, AB. Those were some of their most special memories, when they spent time together, driving and hosting many of their friends and family on tours across Canada and the United States. Dad was a man of integrity, love, compassion and service. He loves the Lord, his dear wife, four children, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, more than words can adequately express. Family was everything to him. Our tight knit Kenly family has a special love and bond that will always endure.
Marvin (Reva), Terry (Sandy), Sheila (Sid) and Debra (Rick), are grateful to those at Lee Crest who graciously and loving cared for our dad over the past few years and continue to care for our precious mother Lauretta.
Special thanks to the medical Staff of the Lethbridge & Cardston Hospitals.
A Funeral service will be held in Cardston, AB, West Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (846 -1 Ave West) on Saturday, September 7th, at 11am. Those who wish to meet with the family may do so from 10:00 am – 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment to follow in the Hill Spring Cemetery.
