ROSE DARLENE BARROWS, beloved wife of Russel Barrows, passed away at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the age of 82 years.
Along with her husband Russ, she will be lovingly remembered by her children, Deborah (Barry Wootten) Kirley of Helena, MT, Shelley (Ian) Baker of Calgary, AB, Wayne (Sandra) Barrows of Coutts, AB and Cherie (Jason) Taylor of Cut Bank, MT, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Cecil Bianchi, Tom Bianchi and Gladys Bunyak, as well as numerous family members.
She was predeceased by her parents, Nickolas and Hilda Bianchi, brother Sam Bianchi and her infant daughter, Darlene Barrows.
Rose was born in Groton, AB, the third of five children. She grew up near Aden, AB on the family ranch and attended a one room schoolhouse until 12th grade, which she completed in Lethbridge. Rose met Russ at dances held at Whitlash MT and they were married in Sweetgrass, MT on July 4, 1958. Their story made the local paper! They eventually took over running the family farm and raised their children there until moving into the Village of Coutts in 1982.
Rose was creative and enjoyed arts, crafts, gardening, sewing and cooking. Her pies and rolls were dearly loved by all, especially her grandchildren. Rose was known for reading her bible faithfully and helping with church functions throughout the years.
She was devoted to her family, relatives and friends. Everyone was treated as a gift since she was so kind and generous and people loved to spend time with her.
“Rose, your family and friends, love you and you will live in our hearts forever!”
A Viewing will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 301 Main Street, Milk River, AB, on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Kelly Stickel officiating.
