SOPHIE PARADIS

1939 ~ 2019

Sophie Vienna Marie Paradis, our dear wife and mother, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at the age of 80 years. Along with her beloved husband of 59 years, Don, left to cherish Sophie’s memory are their children, Patrice (Al), Denise (Greg) and Les (Jamie); six grandchildren, Kaley, Tessa, Quinton, Stephanie, Brad and Sarah; brother-in-law, Ray (Millie); sister-in-law, Joyce as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Randy. Sophie was born in Cadomin, Alberta where she was raised and educated. She moved to Edmonton upon graduation and became an operator with AGT. Sophie married Don on February 27, 1960, and together they raised four wonderful children. Sophie was an amazing cook and homemaker. She enjoyed canning, especially pickles; traveling down south and sewing. Sophie had a kind and gentle soul who was gracious to everyone she met. She will be sadly missed by her family, who she dedicated her whole life to. A Celebration of Sophie’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, December 30, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with Deacon Terry Olson officiating.
