Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Hammel, beloved wife of the late Matt Hammel, passed away peacefully at River Ridge Seniors Village in Medicine Hat on Friday, February 7, 2020. Left to cherish her memory are eight children, 20 grandchildren and many great- grandchildren. She is survived by three sisters and one brother. Betty was born on July 19, 1940, in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan. Throughout her life she enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her kids and grandkids. While residing at River Ridge, her daily highlights were music, bingo, entertainment and enjoying the staff. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Hillside Cemetery. We would like to extend a special thank-you to all the amazing staff at River Ridge and her Doctor for all the great care.
