McKenna, Lila Marion (nee Knoblich)

On August 16, 2020, Mrs. Lila Marion McKenna of Red Deer peacefully passed away at the age of 90 years.

She is survived by her two sons, Timothy of Airdrie, Wesley and his wife Lori of Cochrane; two daughters Shelley and her fiancé Albert Kennedy of Nanaimo, BC, Lorri and her husband Wayne Powell of Red Deer; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister Agnes Sommert of St. Albert.

Lila was predeceased by her faithful husband Morley McKenna; her loving daughter Bonnie Rach; her dear brother Reverend Harvey Knoblich.

She was born and raised in the community of Schuler, AB on her grandfather’s homestead. She met and fell in love with Morley McKenna and they married alongside her sister and brother-in-law in a beautiful double wedding. They moved to Calgary where they raised five children before settling onto an acreage with a home built by her loving husband. There they resided until moving to Edmonton where she would remain until she moved to her present-day home in Red Deer at Villa Marie.

Lila McKenna was a devout Christian, a faithful wife, caring mother and loving grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Funeral service will be held for immediate family on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2 PM at the Red Deer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
