ALFRED “AL” CHENEY

Al Cheney of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the age of 76 years, beloved husband of Evelyn. Al leaves to cherish his memory his son, Corey Cheney; daughter, Corinne (Jim) Kornelson; four grandchildren, Courtney Cheney, Cameron Cheney, Amber Kornelson and Austin Kornelson; one great-grandchild, Taya Kornelson; and numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Theresa Cheney and three brothers, Ralph (Barb) Cheney, Tom (Helen) Cheney and George (Rose) Cheney. Al was born and raised in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He enjoyed coaching hockey, woodworking, reading, golfing, umping softball games and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved to fish and camp with his family in Northern Saskatchewan. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial service will take place at First Assembly of God on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 1:00pm with Pastor Lyle Berg officiating. With current COVID-19 restrictions, attendance for the service is by invitation only.
