It is with great sadness that the family of Lloyd Raymond Cox, age 84, announce his passing in Medicine Hat on Monday, November 15, 2021, following a brief battle with cancer. Lloyd was born in Kimberley, BC. and spent his youth in Cranbrook, BC before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1954, at the age of 17. He served in France for two years as well as many Canadian postings. While stationed in Ottawa, ON., he met and married June Ann Miller on September 24,1966, and one year later they were posted to Germany for four years. Lloyd retired after 25 years of service. He was then employed as a workshop supervisor with the British Army (BATUS) at CFB Suffield for 18 years. After retirement, Lloyd dedicated much of his time as a volunteer with June in the community, including the MS Society, the Santa Claus Fund and the Medicine Hat Food Bank. He served as a board member of Riverside Presbyterian Church and was also a Meals on Wheels driver for 20 years. A kind and quiet man, Lloyd had a steadfast commitment to helping others and was always willing to lend a hand. His family and friends will remember him for his gentle nature, curious mind and sense of humour. Lloyd is survived by his wife, June; two daughters, Allison of Redcliff, and Laura (Fernando) Tobal and grandson, Ethan of Chapel Hill, NC. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Kennedy of Penticton, BC. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, Glenna and Raymond Cox and his step-father, Mark Kennedy. A Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating.
