Ernie owned his own business for many years, Ernie’s Heating and Sheet Metal and installed a lot of furnaces around Medicine Hat and area. He treated his customers with a good attitude and honest dealings from which he made many long-time friends.
Ernie fell in love with the sport of hunting and fishing at a young age and has had the opportunity to fish in Hawaii, Alaska, Port Renfrew and many other hidden gems around Alberta and of course the South Saskatchewan River. He travelled many places including Jamaica, Dominican, Vancouver Island, Las Vegas, Arizona and Kingston. Ernie had a great sense of humour and just loved to tease his sisters, nieces, nephews, and of course his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ernie had a love of sports. The Tigers, Bluejays and Roughriders were his favourite as well as rodeo and curling. You could always catch Ernie sneaking sweets (fudge), singing along to country music and having rum and playing cards with friends.
He will be missed by all who knew him.

Dear Lynne,
I was sorry to learn that your husband, Ernie , died last month.
I wanted to send sympathy and condolences sooner but Bert has been in hospital and my time has been pressured lately.
I hope you and your family are managing to go ahead as I know it must be difficult now.
Sincerely, Ev Kleis
