BOURNE, BARRIE DOUGLAS

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race.

I have kept the faith”

After a recent battle with Alzheimer’s and a life-time with Down’s Syndrome, our cherished brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend, Barrie bravely ran his race to the finish in the year 2022 on August 29 in Raymond. Left to finish their race are his sister Helen Cook and brother-in-law Floyd Cook of Claresholm, nieces and nephews Jason & Alwyn Cook & family of Strathmore, Juli and Lance Miller & family of Magrath, Jana and Cam Blumel & family of Beaumont, Adrian and Amber Cook & family of Medicine Hat and Vance & Randa Cook & family of Brooks. Barrie was predeceased by his parents Doug and Marion Bourne.

Barrie had a love for music, sports and riding his three wheeled bike. He was always happy and will be remembered for his smiles and cheerful attitude. He started his race in 1947 on February 25 in Lethbridge. Some highlights of his life included a visit to Graceland, a cruise in the Caribbean, spending time at SASH, living with the Lance and Juli Miller family and living with the Darrel and Karen Chipman family.

The Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Magrath Cemetery with a viewing at Salmon and Sons Funeral Home in Lethbridge from 9.00 AM to 10.00 AM.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Good Samaritan Society Prairie Ridge, Cottage One in Raymond.

“Happy Trails to You…. Until we meet again”
