CAROLYN BAKER

1950-2022

Our very special sister, aunt, and friend Carolyn Baker passed away suddenly in Edmonton, Alberta on August 29, 2022. She was born January 11, 1950 in Lethbridge, Alberta to Virgina Proctor Baker and Bryan Stringham Baker. She spent her youth on the Baker family farm south of Raymond, Alberta.

Carolyn graduated from Raymond High School and went on to attend Ricks College and Brigham Young University. After returning to Canada, she was married and lived in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario. She returned to Edmonton in August 2012 to live near her sister Maude.

Family and friends described Carolyn as feisty, fun-loving, and fit. She was very beautiful and loved beautiful clothes and jewelry. She was best known for her unique sense of style and her immaculate home. She enjoyed good food, but was very particular about what she ate. She was passionate about health and wellness and enjoyed walking and doing yoga. She spent her leisure time with friends and family, listening to music, and going to movies. Carolyn was adventurous and loved to travel. She had many memorable trips, including a trip to Montreal with her sisters and a raft trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. She particularly loved her time in Maine and Mexico where she spent many happy weeks with John and Lynda.

She is survived by her sisters Kathe (David) Thomas and Maude Baker, and brothers Bob (Gloria), Jim (Karla), and John (Lynda), and thirteen nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband Sandy Macpherson, and her two Chinese Chows, Maggie and Charlee.

A Graveside Service and interment will be held Monday, September 12 at 11:00 AM at Temple Hill Cemetery in Raymond.
