KOHASHIGAWA

EDDY KOHASHIGAWA passed away suddenly on Friday September 2, 2022 at the age of 86. For the last few years, he was living at the Legacy Lodge in north Lethbridge.

Eddy (nickname Elvis) was born on August 31,1936 at Eight Mile Lake, just northeast of Lethbridge. He came from a large family of ten siblings. He was predeceased by his sisters Yoshiko, Amie, and Shizuko, and brothers Sakae and Shigeru. He is survived by his siblings David, Lily, Gordon and George; and several nephews and nieces.

As a child, his family farmed in Shaughnessy, Iron Springs and Vauxhall. His parents, Kyosei & Miyo, retired to Coaldale as Eddy worked in Lethbridge. From there Eddy worked in Vancouver, then to Calgary where he put his artistic talent to work doing illustrations for magazines and newspapers in his spare time.

Eddy had health issues throughout his life, so we are thankful that he still lived a long life. We wish to thank the staff at the Legacy Lodge for their excellent care given to Eddy.

A Private Family Memorial will take place at a later date.

Cremation has been entrusted to Salmon and Sons Funeral Home in Lethbridge, Alberta.
