REGENA PITCHER (nee Eyre) March 5, 1940 ~ December 16, 2022
While surrounded by her loving family, Jean passed peacefully at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat at the age of 82 years. Jean was born in Cardston, Alberta. She went to school in Jefferson until moving into Cardston for grade 12. In 1957 at a dance in Waterton Park, she met Jim Pitcher and they were married in 1959. They didn’t stay in any place for long and enjoyed splitting their time between Alberta and Arizona, eventually settling in Medicine Hat full time in 2016. Jean is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jim along with three daughters: Pat (Lars) Priestley-Wright of Medicine Hat and their four children, Donnie Dickson (Danette) (Rosslyn & Mabel), Jennifer Buehler (Ryan) (Jake & Jordan), Branden Dickson, Janis Quast (Gene) (Luke); daughter, April Tunke (Herman) and their four children, Jessie Proskow (Jason) (Brett, Abby, Lexa), Amanda Tunke (Austin, Arianna), Nikki Nickolson (Travis) (Kayson, Stranton), Trent Tunke (Lori) (Hensley); daughter, Lori Pitcher, Courtney Elliott (Dallas) (Brooks). Jean is also survived by her brother, Bob Eyre, sister-in-law, Jean Eyre and brother-in-law, Don Jensen as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Regena was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Reginald Eyre, brother, Ron Eyre, sisters-in-law, Carol Eyre, Kay Jensen and Gwen Bracha. A Celebration of Jean’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating.
