DALE WILSON 1935 – 2022 We are sad to announce the passing of Dale George Wilson at Chinook Regional Hospital, on December 16, 2022, at the age of 87.
Dale is survived by his wife of 65 years, Audrey, son Darren (Brenda) Wilson, daughters Marion Champion and Michele (Bill) Scheurkogel, grandchildren Jeffrey (Jenn) Wilson, Kayla (Casey) Frattin, Levi Champion, Ethan (Ayla) Champion, Kory Scheurkogel (Jessica Wigton), Kevin Scheurkogel, Kristal Scheurkogel (Eric DeLauw), and 2 great grandchildren Brooklyn and Walker Wilson. He is also survived by his brother Kelly (Melissa) Wilson, sister in law Marlene Wilson, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was predeceased by his parents Cliff and Arley and his brother Norman.
Dale was born January 23rd, 1935, in Edson, Alberta, and later moved to Lethbridge with his parents. Dale attended school at McLean School and later McNally school where he met Audrey in grade 6. He and Audrey married in 1957 and lived in Calgary before moving to Lethbridge where Dale worked as a Steam Engineer at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre for 35 years.
Dale loved sports and over the years played broomball, hockey, and played slow pitch for many years, travelling to St. George, Utah, for the Huntsman World Senior Games for 20 years. Dale had a love for bowling starting in 1959 and continuing until last year. Dale was outgoing and made friends everywhere he went, and he and Audrey welcomed everyone into their home. Dale was so loved and will be greatly missed.
Dale’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Chinook Regional Hospital and Tara and Monique at the heart clinic.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity of your choice.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 – 15 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta with Reverend Trevor Potter, officiating.
A private family graveside service will be held prior in the Mountain View Cemetery.
