MARGARET ELIZABETH “BETTY” CAMERON 1922 – 2022 Margaret Elizabeth “Betty” Cameron, age 100 years and 1 day, passed away at Fort Macleod Extendicare on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11:55pm. She was born December 26, 1922, in Eugene, Oregon.
She was the loving wife of the late Mr. William “Bill” Cameron who passed away May 2, 2011, and loving mother to Dianne (Stan) Perrin and Donna (Keith-deceased) Hunter.
In her early married life, she resided on their farm east of Granum and was also employed at the local grocery store, hardware store and telephone office. She held various positions in Turner Valley, Bow Island and Raymond where Bill was Postmaster. In retirement, they lived in Lethbridge and attended McKillop United Church.
Betty had artistical and musical ability and played the piano (by ear) from a very young age until her late 90’s. Her piano, built in 1919 was seldom idle. Her home was immaculate, and she made the best EVER apple pies.
Betty is survived by her two daughters and was blessed with 4 grandchildren Gordon Perrin (deceased), Lyle (Andrea) Perrin, Kelly-Jo Hunter and Trevor (Roxy Hofer) Hunter; 9 great-grandchildren Samual (Jamie) Perrin, Sydney (Brennan) Graham, Shelby (Jesse) Hernandez, Holly (Bryce) Shreffler, Jessie Perrin, Haley Perrin and Jennifer Perrin; great-great-grandchildren Ava and Amelia Hernandez, Braylee and Avery Graham, Sampson Perrin and Presley Shreffler; sister Mary (Jim-deceased) Ruller and brother Alfred (Colleen) McNeil.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects 1 hour prior to service time at Martin Brothers Riverview Chapel.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Trevor Potter, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
