ANNIE GREENWALD

ANNIE GREENWALD 1927 ~ 2023 Annie M. Greenwald of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the age of 95 years, beloved wife of the late Samuel Greenwald. She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Gloria Greenwald and Denice Greenwald; five grandchildren, Annette, Sonny, Carissa, Jason and Stephanie; six great grandchildren; and two siblings, Joe Giesinger and Marion Pineau. She was predeceased by her parents Mark and Eva Giesinger; her husband, Samuel Greenwald; two daughters, Jeannette and Linda; and son, David. Annie and Sam operated Holiday Gulf, B.A., and Royal Light service stations. Following Sam’s death, Annie upgraded her education and worked at Beny Motors for many years. Volunteerism was very important to Annie and she spent 25 years at the post. She was a part of the C.W.L., Elks and Eagles for many years. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 – 2nd Avenue N.E.) on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Roque Pereira, celebrant. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in the spring.     We were so sorry to hear of Ann’s passing. This was a sad day for all. Ann was an inspiration to all of us. We loved to hear about her fishing adventures and especially about her time spent with her cousin Joe Gesinger (my father). Life is far too short!
