MICHAEL MINGO
The family of Michael (Mike) Mingo are deeply saddened to announce his unexpected passing in Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the age of 39 years. Mike was born at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, B.C., on June 16, 1983. He was raised in Merritt, B.C., where he received his schooling and graduated from the Merritt Secondary School. Mike was skilled with his hands and put them to work in mechanics and computer repair in which he excelled. On the lighter side, he could use those same hands to make delicate leather/bead-work and sculptures. He was known for his generous nature and was always willing to lend a hand. Mike’s smile lit up the room and his personality was very charasmatic whether it was when he was telling a great story or reciting some of his poetry. Mike will be deeply missed by his children, Searra Rain Rose Mingo (14) and Lillie Rose Lynn Chenoweth-Mingo (3 months); his father, Freeman Douglas Mingo and step-mom, Maizie May Martin; a brother, Steven Douglas Mingo as well as numerous aunts, uncles and extended family. He was predeceased by his mother, Deborah Rose Mihura and step-father, Morris Joseph Mihura.– Family privately paid their respects to Mike and will honour his life at a later date.
