It is with extremely broken hearts that the family of Larry and Brenda Halvorson announce their sudden and tragic passings in Cypress County on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the ages of 79 years and 73 years respectively. Both Larry and Brenda were the youngest sibling in their families. They leave to cherish their memories, their children, Laurie (Dion) Schlosser and Trevor (Tara) Halvorson; five grandchildren, Taylor Schlosser, Kiara Schlosser, Breanna Schlosser, Cole English and Treyten Halvorson as well as one great-grandchild, Blake English. Larry also leaves behind one sister, Diane Duncan. Brenda leaves behind two brothers, Francis Collinson and Bryon Collinson. They both leave behind several nieces and nephews. Larry and Brenda were predeceased by their parents, Allen and Christina Halvorson and Bill and Marguerite Collinson; granddaughter, Montana Halvorson; great-grandchildren, Camille English and Conner English; brother, Lavern Halvorson; sister-in-law, Sheila Halvorson; brother-in-law, Dick Duncan; brother, Robert “Bob” Collinson; sister-in-law, Carol Collinson and niece, Bobbi-Lea Collinson. Larry and Brenda spent their first 25 years of marriage farming in Abbey, SK. After selling their farm, they moved to Medicine Hat to be closer to their children. Larry did various truck driving jobs and Brenda worked at Safeway until she retired. Larry and Brenda both enjoyed many years of camping with family and attended as many of their grandchildren’s sporting events as possible. The pair enjoyed dancing and even continued to dance together at the social events they had at the Meadow Ridge Home (where Larry resided for the past year. The past year, Brenda made a point of going to the home almost daily so she and Larry could still be together. They both had a soft spot for their cat, Molly, who is going to be lost without their constant attention. The family will be hosting a Come and Go Celebration in honour of both Larry and Brenda which will be held in the Ortona Room at the Royal Canadian Legion, 702 – 2 Street S.E., Medicine Hat on Saturday, April 15, 2023, between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cooksouthland.com) Honoured to serve the family is
