CAREY BELIK 1972 – 2023 Carey Belik, beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and grandson passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 51 on August 29, 2023.
Carey was the son of Barbara (Dave) Whitney and Larry (Mary) Belik. He was born on May 16, 1972, in Blairmore, AB and lived there until 1985. Carey moved to Elkford BC in 1985 where he lived with his dad and stepmom. Carey was involved in Air Cadets, graduated high school and went to college while in BC. Carey returned to Alberta in 1992 where he continued his college education in Red Deer. Along with his mom and stepdad, Carey settled in Lethbridge in 2007.
Carey participated in Special Olympics and was a very active and energetic employee of the Ability Resource Program for over 5 years. Above all else, Carey loved to attend family gatherings, music concerts and sporting events. Carey will be sadly missed by all who came across his friendly manner, great sense of humor and soft personal approach to everyone he met.
Carey is survived by his parents Barbara (Dave) Whitney and Larry (Mary) Belik, his brother Darren (Melanie), niece Abbey and nephew Griffin. His Grandmother Nettie (Laurie) Rupert, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Carey leaves behind a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His memory will be fondly cherished by his large family, friends and co-workers.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer foundation or Special Olympics Lethbridge.

    Larry & Mary … I was saddened to learn of Carey’s passing. I think back many years to 279 Squadron and the times spent with Carey on outings. He was such a special person. Heartfelt condolences to you and the rest of Carey’s family. Thinking of you at this time…….Virginia
