Art was born on March 23, 1934, and grew up on the family farm near Mendham, SK. In 1957, he married his one true love, Maxine Ginther. Together they worked side by side raising their family and running their mixed farming operation. In 1995, they retired to Park Meadow Estates in Medicine Hat where they became actively involved in the development of this community making new lifelong friends. It was here that Art was instrumental in spearheading the Christmas light display that continued for more than 20 years under his direction. Art and Maxine spent countless hours decorating homes for people who were not able to do it themselves.
Art and Maxine spent many winters in Palm Springs where they enjoyed an ever-growing circle of friends. Art loved to visit and entertain. In December 2022, Art and Maxine moved to Meadowlands Retirement Home where they resided until his passing.
Art was a proud man filled with love and integrity; a man of faith who loved God beyond measure. A man who worked hard and raised strong independent children; a man who was incredibly proud of his grandsons and great-grandchildren. Art was a man of knowledge, a man of wisdom, who was kind, gentle, slow to anger and had a firm but gentle voice. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
