Rest in peace my friend.
My condolences to the family your Dad ,Grandfather and Great Grandfather was a very special person and I will miss him very much with the many coffees and conversations we had together over the years
Such sad news – a life well lived but far too short.
Don and I were first cousins – my mother, Juanita and Don’s mother, Bea (Effie) were sisters.
My fondest memory is of visits to his childhood home in BC. We’d pick peaches and apples, play hide and seek and be scared of the earwigs. Don was always laughing.
Although he was Mom’s ‘only’ nephew, from the Blackburn side of the family, he was her favourite. She loved hearing from him and Pat about their travels and their jobs. There were many fond memories from a trip Mom and Dad made to Germany, where Don was stationed. They were welcomed with open arms and Don and Pat toured them around like royalty. Such fun.
Don & Pat came to visit Mom, just before her passing, in Moncton NB in 2009. He was full of life and all smiles. She was so happy to see him and you could tell she loved him dearly. That was the last time we saw each other.
Time and distance meant Don and I lost touch however he was in my thoughts. Now, after his passing, we will keep you and yours in our thoughts and prayers. So sorry for your loss.
A few pictures have been sent to you through Cook Southland.
With our heartfelt condolences,
Don’s first cousin, Bonnie, and Dan Cameron, Moncton NB
