DAVE WALLWORK 1950 – 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, David Nathan Wallwork on January 10, 2024, at the young age of 73 years. Dave was a life long resident of Bow Island, Alberta, and proud to be the fourth generation of Wallwork Ranches.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Margery; his children, Vince Wallwork, and his fiancé, Justine Laliberté of Sherwood  Park, Alberta; Ethan Wallwork  and his husband, Neil Campbell-Wallwork of Martensville, Saskatchewan; and Amy Wallwork of Innisfail, Alberta; his grandchildren, Aiden Wallwork, Eric Wallwork, Jasmine Dutt and Izabelle Chesney.  His siblings, Al (Arlene) Wallwork and Margaret (Bill) Benson; as well as extended family members, nieces, nephews, and numerous dear friends. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Doris and Jim.

Dave was born in Lethbridge in 1950. He was raised in the United Church, on the family ranch along the stunning banks of the South Saskatchewan River. His parents instilled their hard-working ethic in Dave and he carried that throughout his life.  Dave took education seriously, he attended the University of Alberta and graduated with a Degree in Agriculture.  It was there that he found the absolute love of his life Margery Taylor.  Dave and Margery married in 1972, quickly settling on the ranch.  Throughout his life Dave, served the community of Bow Island, the County of 40 Mile, St. Mary’s Water district and the United Church.  Dave and Marge travelled extensively throughout the winters, travelling all over the world. They eventually found their way to vacationing in Panama. Dave and Marge fell in love with Panama, and it was their winter home for over 15 years.

Dave had a stoic exterior, complimented by the biggest heart. Especially for his wife and children. Dave loved his family deeply, he always ensured they were taken care of no matter what they needed. Dave was the rock of the family, always ensuring the family got together for Thanksgiving, and other major holidays. He had such pride in his eyes when they were all around him. Dave simply loved family, loved life, loved his friends, and loved a good beer or a glass of Malbec wine.

A Funeral Service in Dave’s honour will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Andrew’s United Church in Bow Island (139-2nd Ave W), with a public viewing starting at 10:00 a.m.  The service will be live streamed.  Those who wish to attend virtually, please visit pattisonfuneralhome.com and select live streaming, then select the YouTube (arrow).
