KERWYN FARRELL November 26, 1980 ~ January 22, 2024
On Monday January 22, 2024, Kerwyn Andre Farrell, loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle, passed away at 43 years of age.
Kerwyn was born on November 26, 1980, in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Roland and Kayrene (Furgus) Farrell. He was a special little boy right from the start. As soon as he could talk (which was early btw), Kerwyn had this uncanny, endearing way of talking non-stop. He was always so curious about how the world worked that he would incessantly ask questions. In fact, Kerwyn talked so much his aunt once offered to pay him to stay silent. Let’s just say he didn’t make any money off that bet!
Kerwyn and Rena met while in high school in St. Norbert and the rest is history. Born only one day apart, these two lovebirds were more similar than anything. Kerwyn and Rena were married for 11 years. Spend any time with them and you would know they often fought for airtime, but no one can deny Rena and Kerwyn, loved each other passionately and fiercely and there were always jokes, jabs and laughter between the two. The love Kerwyn and Rena shared will continue to live on in Rena and their kids.
Kerwyn was a kind, generous, charismatic person. We often joked that Kerwyn could make friends with a wall. Despite his “tough guy” exterior, Kerwyn was just a sweet teddy bear especially when talking about his three kids, Kiana, Ryder and Jayden. He loved his kids with his whole, entire being and was so proud of every one of their accomplishments. If ever Kerwyn was having a bad day, all he had to do was spend time with his kids or Facetime with them to turn his day around. He was truly an amazing dad!
Kerwyn loved spending time in his man cave and often invited his family and friends over for a beer or two, some poker or just to hangout. He had countless friends, no, really, he had so many friends! One thing each one of them had in common was that they all considered Kerwyn like a brother to them. He was just that magnetic. Ask anyone and they would agree that his smile could light up the room (he had the best teeth!) and his laugh was infectious and outrageous.
Kerwyn could be quiet and serious, but he was funny and could make you laugh until you cry. Passionate for his teams the Saskatchewan Roughriders, New Jersey Devils and the Atlanta Falcons, Kerwyn was in many, many fantasy leagues. So, if he wasn’t watching the shenanigans of Victor on “The Young and the Restless” or wrestling, he was keeping track of all the games.
Kerwyn was the youngest of two children and was greatly loved by his big sister who was so proud to have him as a brother. He leaves behind Rhonda (Dan) Timmerman, his brothers-in-law, Reggie (Jennifer) and Martin Bilodeau as well as his loving nephews and niece.
His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply.
A Celebration of Kerwyn’s life will be held at Holy Family Parish, 1415 Strachan Road SE, Medicine Hat on Saturday, January 27, at 12:00 PM with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating. There will be a celebration of life in Winnipeg, Manitoba at a later date. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at www.cooksouthland.com) Honoured to serve the family is
