FOSTER It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Paul Foster announce his passing in Saanichton, B.C., on January 12, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.

Tom was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on October 8, 1954, to Robert & Betty Foster. Tom is survived by his wife and best friend of 25 years, Jessica Roberts, as well as his children, Sondra Foster, Kristina Foster and Robert Foster, Stepchildren Megan Roberts and Grant Roberts. Tom is also survived by his brother Ken (Cathy) Foster, Laura (Bill) Holmes, Judy (Bryan) Bohnet, Diane (Clayton) Bruce as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Mary, and brother Jim.

Tom’s childhood was spent with his family in One Four, Alberta, amongst the many animals they rescued there. Tom shared mesmerizing stories of his childhood with his children and grandchildren. Tom’s passion was shown through his excellent leather craft skills, spending many hours a day in his workshop and selling his beautiful work online and in local shops in Victoria, B.C and Colorado. Over the years, Tom also enjoyed hunting, fly fishing and camping. Many of those adventures were shared with his good friend, the late Keith Hope, with some tall (and some true) stories, shared over a coffee at Trucker’s in Redcliff, Alberta.

Before retirement, Tom had a lengthy career in telecommunications, which he started as an Apprentice at AGT Medicine Hat, and finished when he retired from Project Planning in Victoria, BC. His career took him to many areas including Alberta, B.C., Hawaii, and California.

Thank you to the wonderful care of Doctors and Nursing staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital in Saanichton, B.C.
