KEVIN JACK DONALD GOODYEAR Kevin Jack Donald Goodyear, 32, passed away on March 12, 2024. Kevin was born on May 7, 1991, in Scarborough, Ontario; and lived in Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, and Calgary, Alberta.
Kevin led a life of unparalleled passion. Having graduated from the University of Lethbridge with distinction, Kevin achieved his dream job as the drama teacher at Bert Church High School. Kevin enjoyed nearly 10 years with his students and colleagues; directing many successful plays and musicals at the Bert Church Theatre. Though Kevin’s proudest moment in life may have been when he became an uncle.
Kevin is survived by his partner Spencer Bergen, his parents Brian & Kim Goodyear, his sister Brianna Harrison (Gavin) and his niece Natalie. He is also survived by his Grandmother Hilda Goodyear in NL, Uncles Jim (Theresa) Goodyear, Jeff (Judy) Goodyear, Randy Carter (Rochelle), Aunt Lori Wheaton (Travis), cousins Brooke, Liam, Lucas, Jacklyn, Michael, Derek and Kelly. He was predeceased by his Grandfather Jack Goodyear, and Grandparents Don & Elsie Carter. He also leaves to mourn his many, many friends, colleagues and students.
A celebration of life for Kevin will take place on April 6th, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Bert Church Theatre in Airdrie, Alberta. While there is no dress code, to honour Kevin it is suggested that you wear something in his favourite colour, bright blue. Kevin’s family will be creating a scholarship in his memory at Bert Church High School, where Kevin spent his career as the much loved drama teacher.
