SARAH RICHARDS June 17, 1967 ~ April 6, 2024
Sarah Rhianon Richards passed away at her residence in Medicine Hat on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the age of 56 years. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family: husband, John; daughter, Kendra; mother, Susan Stinchcombe as well as three brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Bob Stinchcombe. Sarah was born in Victoria, BC. in the Oak Bay Area, where she developed a love for the ocean at a young age. After High School she received her first degree, Bachelor Of Arts at the University of Victoria. Sarah moved to Japan and taught English at a private school for a number of years. She then decided to return to her home in Victoria, BC. and started working on her Education Degree at the University of Victoria when she met the love of her life, John Richards. After completing her Education Degree, she moved to Penticton, BC. to be with John. Together they moved to Medicine Hat in 1998 and just a few years later were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Kendra. Sarah was the Japanese and ESL Teacher at Medicine Hat High School and enjoyed her role in assisting students achieve their goals. Sarah had many hobbies and interests including photography, gardening and working on Jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed road trips, long walks, hiking in the woods and camping. Living in Canada’s sunniest city allowed Sarah to absorb the warmth and vibrance of the sun just as she did with the beautiful serenity of the ocean growing up. Her memory will live on within the hearts and minds of all those whose lives she touched. Dignified cremation has taken place and a celebration of Sarah’s life will be held at a future date.     I met and knew Sarah from many friends in Wakayama City where I taught English as well at Kaichi High School. Sarah was a good person with a big heart. ❤️ I know she made an impact in the lives of her students. Tengoku ga atarashi Tenshi o moraimashita. Heaven received another Angel 😇.
